Weird West was released this week and first impressions were pretty good. Reviewers call it an excellent top-down immersive sim, with many comparing it favorably with classic immersive sims like the original Fallout. If that sounds appealing to you, it’s a great game to play, but it’s now only available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and Game Pass. What about the strange man? Is Weird West coming to the Nintendo Switch?
Will Weird West come to the Nintendo Switch?
At the moment, the answer to this question is no. Prior to the release of Weird West, Devolver Digital had clarified that the game would only release on the above platforms, with no release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S or Nintendo Switch, although in the case of PlayStation and Xbox, you can still play versions of Weird West. PS4 or Xbox One from the game on PS5 or Xbox Series X/S, respectively. As for the Switch, however, no Weird West release plans have been leaked by WolfEye Studios or Devolver.
However, a converter is nothing if not a port-ready ship at a late stage. Many games, both newer and older, made their way to the Switch, both physically and digitally, later after release. As such, while nothing has been announced at the time of writing, it’s not impossible for Weird West to eventually make its way to the Switch, although if it does, it likely won’t be at least a year or so later. About that, and maybe more. Keep your eyes on the official Devolver Twitter Flow, as well as the strange West Steam Forums for any possible information.
