For the second year in a row, we are deprived of a book fair! Never mind, this week will be peppered with new and inspiring literary encounters.
In terms of inspiration, Frédéric Beigbdeer should not be outdone! The author who often makes headlines has lived several careers. During the 1990s he worked as an advertising designer. It was this experience that inspired his famous novel 99 francs (Glimard 2004). Writing a novel to expel, an original but profitable technique because the book would be a hit and the movie with Jean Dujardin too!
At the same time, he wrote columns for Elle, Paris Match, and Here magazines.
His life as a television and radio columnist will also be rejected. His sharp pen will serve programs like the Grand Journal or Patrick Cohen’s morning on France Inter.
If the author is not stingy with literary advice, then his last novel is also imbued with generosity. Dam on the Atlantic Ocean (Grasset 2022) presents readers with an autobiographical charter and declaration of love for Bassin d’Arcachon. It is clearly an invitation to travel but certainly not the invitation we expect. At the same time, Frédéric Beigbdeer’s journey can only be permeated with surprise and amazement.
