After nearly two years of continuous shutdown due to the coronavirus, Terminal 1 saw its first plane take off on Saturday 27 March at 6:20 am bound for Lisbon.
Since this morning Yango has reopened the doors of its restaurant located in the departure hall: “I am very happy to be able to resume service. The period seemed long to me, a far cry from my foundation. I alternate between remote work and temporary assignments“.
Airport Director Frank Gulnadel welcomed the move: “We are glad that we have succeeded in this challenge. It is nothing to reopen a terminal, especially after two years of virtual closure.”
Now, he’s heading into the summer. Nice Côte d’Azur Airport relies on Terminal 1 to definitely lift its head above the water. After losing 40 million euros in two years, the management team hopes to see a stable financial balance.
