PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–Le spécialiste des gaz industriels Air Liquide an annoncé jeudi avoir signé un nouveau contrat de long terme avec le groupe siderurgique et minier russe PAO Severstal portant sur la fourniture d everstal ep’oxylegène Severstal In Russia.
As part of this contract, Air Liquide will invest approximately €60 million in building an Air Separation Unit (ASU) at this site, which is one of the major oxygen production sites in Europe, the mainland, where the group already owns three more ASUs.
The French group said the unit is supposed to be operational before the end of 2023 and will be operated by Air Liquide Severstal, a joint venture between Air Liquide and Severstal.
“This new contract will reinforce the long-term partnership that we have been developing regularly since 2005 with Severstal,” François Jacou, Deputy General Manager of Air Liquide, supervising Europe Industries activities, commented in a press release.
