Regensburg.SSV Jahn Regensburg has confirmed that Christian Keeler will be leaving the Second Division football team. The professional football managing director will not extend his contract, which expires on October 31, according to a press release noon Tuesday. Mittelbayerische had already said on Monday that Keeler’s departure was imminent.
The 42-year-old started at Regensburg in 2013 and, after initial setbacks, boosted the traditional club both sportingly and economically. SSV Jahn is currently second on the table in its fifth season in the second division.
Christian Keeler takes a break
The press release verbatim reads: “On October 31, 2021, the collaboration took place between SSV Jahn Regensburg and Dr. Christian Keeler, who was the Managing Director of Professional Football at SSV Jahn Regensburg GmbH & Co. KGaA and member of the Youth Football Board of Directors of SSV Jahn Regensburg eV since June 2013. The 42-year-old had already set 31 October 2021 the end of his fixed contract for SSV Jahn in January 2020 when he was renewing his contract at that time.”
After Jean leaves, Keeler will take several months off work. The association wants to inform the successor as soon as possible. The goal is to find a solution in which the mathematical and economic fields, for which Keeler was previously solely responsible, are divided between two people.
