It took almost 14 years to see this iconic land on Amazon Kindle …

Amazon’s e-readers lineup was launched at the end of 2007, and has continued to evolve over time. However, since the range was launched, many users have requested a very specific feature from the American giant, which has always been hearing deaf ears. until today ! In fact, a new update brings Kindle e-readers (finally !!) this much-needed feature.

A job demanded by users for 13 years!

In fact, those who will update their Amazon Kindle e-reader will have a good surprise to discover something new on the one hand Settings. In fact, a quick tour of the options lets you discover a new feature called “Show Cover” (or Cover width In English). The latter allows the tablet to automatically display, when on standby, the cover of the book, comic book, or magazine that is currently being read.

A very simple option, almost obvious to many users, but largely missing from Amazon’s e-reader. We’ll probably never know why it would take more than 13 years to implement this feature … but it is available today at least.

Note however that this is a new option.Cover width“Not available for all Kindle models. Amazon notes that only the 8th and 10th generation models were affected, as was the Kindle Paperwhite (7th and 10th) and Kindle Oasis (8th, 9th, and 10th), not to mention the 7th generation Kindle Voyage. In passing, note the fact that Kindle models with ads are not affected by this new functionality.

Finally, Amazon specifies that the feature is compatible with most books, comics, and other content, but it may not work for some books.
