After multiple rumors, Activision has announced that it will bring Call of Duty: Warzone to mobile devices.
Briefly Blog postThe publisher wrote: “We are creating an all-new AAA mobile experience that will bring the exciting, smooth, and massive action of Call of Duty: Warzone to gamers on the go.”
The company continued to highlight the many roles currently waiting to be filled within its “growing, award-winning team of veterans and emerging talent.”
The blog continues to stress that this version of Warzone is being built from the ground up, rather than just being a port of the current Warzone game.
This new version of Warzone will also be designed to entertain players around the world for many years to come, so expect plenty of updates and content after the game’s release.
Elsewhere, Spanish developer Digital Legends Entertainment has confirmed that this is the company building Call of Duty: Warzone for mobile. It’s worth noting that while a Call of Duty mobile game currently exists, this is the first time a COD mobile game has been created by an Activision-owned developer.

It remains to be seen when exactly Warzone will arrive on mobile devices. Since Activision is actively recruiting, this is unlikely to happen in the near future.
But one of the roles we know needs to be filled is that of senior game/game programmer.
Carlos Fraguas Pizarro, a former Metroid Dread programmer, announced on Twitter that he has joined the Digital Legends team, after spending seven years with MercurySteam.
