It will be the largest in the series. And not the least diverse, as suggested by the videos and information broadcast during the month of June. The very Mexican Forza Horizon 5, which uses photogrammetry for highly secured rendering, will provide 11 dynamic rubber-pull zones from its virtual tires. There are many places that offer a very nice variety and we don’t talk to you about the graphics, we’d rather you see them with pictures in our gallery or the video above.
But what are these environments? Here it is described by the dedicated article du Xbox Wire :
canyon
You might recognize this as the biome that was shown in the Forza Horizon 5 reveal trailer in June. It is full of unique rock formations, many of which are eroded into headgear found only in the valley. Fun fact: Each of the biomes has a unique sound, and the valley has more echoes than all the others.
tropical coast
This might be what you think of when you imagine a tropical vacation in Mexico. Filled with palm trees, seagulls, white sandy beaches and calm waters, it looks like a lifelike postcard. This is the case at least until you reach the stormy season, which completely changes the way you have to navigate. Watch out for the flying palm trees!
Agricultural Land
Unlike the flat or drier farmlands found in some of the previous Forza Horizon games, these rolling hills are filled with lush vegetation, fruit trees, and wide, shallow rivers. You will have many fences to cross and attractive farms to explore during your cruise.
barren hills
As you’d expect, given its name so much, this biome is teeming with dry grasses on rolling hills and plains, providing plenty of open space to cross if you fancy some off-roading. One of the most interesting features of this biome is the lake that dries up in the winter, opening shortcuts through highways and secret areas.
Forest
Filled with lush, dense vegetation and towering trees that allow the beautiful sun rays to pass through the canopies, this biome also features gorgeous waterfalls and meandering rivers. There are also a number of hidden temples in this area, all of which are based on actual sites in Mexico.
live in the desert
In the premiere of the Forza Horizon series, Forza Horizon 5 features a cactus desert teeming with towering sagos. There are also a number of rock formations and rock piles unique to the area. As the name suggests, it is full of life and teeming with flowers and wild animals.
rocky coast
While the tropical coast is teeming with trees and plants, this one has a completely different vibe. Since there aren’t many trees, you’ll have a full view of the ocean and great sunset views at the end of the day. As a bonus for all golfers, you can even ride (read: across) a golf course.
sandy desert
Filled with towering sand dunes, this biome is perfect for buggy rides and digging in the sand. If you don’t want sand between your toes, most roads in this area have long straight lines, so there are plenty of opportunities to see how fast your favorite ride really is.
Marais
While a swamp may not seem like the best place to run, the shallow waters of this biome are a great place for it. The swamp also contains many mangroves with thick, interconnected roots. You can actually run over them during races, changing the track depending on whether or not your car can handle it.
Guanajuato metropolitan city
Like a number of cities in Mexico, there is plenty of stunning architecture and vibrant colors everywhere you look. Unlike a lot of cities, it has a lot of hills and tunnels, which makes for some really fun racing routes. As with the Canyon, you’ll hear plenty of things wandering around the city’s narrow roads.
Vulcan
The first of its kind in the Forza Horizon series, this massive mountain is located right next door to the Living Desert. It’s a very high volcano, so driving to the top is a unique experience that rewards players with a great view on the horizon. This is also the only place in the game where you will encounter snow, so be sure to pack an extra jacket.
You can count on the seasons. Playground Games aims to breathe more life into these places by exposing them to climate change. Even if, from here, while July makes us pass into straightforward November, one begins to misunderstand. In short, it is beautiful, diverse, sophisticated and appeared at the end of the year.
Forza Horizon 5 arrives on November 9, 2021 for Xbox Series X | S, PC and Xbox One.
