Moscow: “150,000 new recruits will not go to Ukraine” – breaking news

The recruitment of about 150,000 new recruits in Russia, on the basis of a decree signed by President Vladimir Putin yesterday, is part of the regular conscription call in the spring and “has nothing to do” with the conflict in Ukraine, as these soldiers will not be recruited. sender. The Ministry of Defense specified this in a memo published on its Telegram channel.

Vice Admiral Vladimir Tsimlyansky, Deputy Head of the Organization Department, confirmed that “all conscripts will be sent to permanent bases for active duty and will not be deployed to new regions or in special military operation.” By “new regions” in Russia we mean the Ukrainian regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia and Kherson, while the conflict in Ukraine is called the “Special Military Operation.”

At the end of 2023, President Vladimir Putin said that two-thirds of the 617,000 military personnel serving in Ukraine are professionals recruited under contract, and a third are reservists called up to arms.
