On the aircraft engine side, research is also progressing … After the maiden flight of the A319neo equipped with a CFM LEAP-1A engine with 100% SAF in its tank in November 2021, Safran Aircraft test teams conducted engines at the end of February 2022, a ground test campaign with a LEAP-engine 1A runs on 100% sustainable fuel. This test consists of measuring gas and particulate emissions at the engine outlet with a JET A-1, then at 100% SAF. The results of these tests, conducted as part of the VOLCAN research project, will be presented within 2022.
