Rasht – First bright lights city of Iran
The provincial capital of Guilan Province in northern Iran, Rasht, has been named the first bright lights city of Iran at a ceremony attended by the Head of the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization of Iran.
The aims of naming such a city can be cited as expanding tourism, managing its night life, urban regeneration, sustainable employment, attracting more tourists to Guilan Province, increased joy of life, family cohesion, bazaars opening at night for family recreation and reduction of depression, stress reduction, and reducing the destructive effects of loneliness for university students and the elderly.
Visa on arrival for Iranians traveling to Azerbaijan
The Republic of Azerbaijan has lifted visa requirements for Iranian national as from yesterday, 16 March 2018. All visas will be issued on arrival at the international airports of Azerbaijan. The Iranian Ambassador to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Javad Jahangirzadeh, said: “Following talks between Foreign Minister Javad Zarif of Iran and the President of Azerbaijan Republic, the country’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement informing the Iranian Embassy that visas will be given on arrival at Baku Heydar Aliyev International Airport and other international airports serving Azerbaijan.
Hamedan hosts World Tourism Summit
An MoU has been signed between the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization of Iran and the World Tourism Organization to hold the World Tourism Summit in Hamedan, Hamedan Province, western Iran. The MoU was signed on Thursday during a trip to Germany by the Organization Deputy, Mohammad Moheb-Khodaei, at the 40th meeting of the World Tourism Organization summit for members.
