(Persia Digest) – Iran Air (Homa) has announced that five new ATR planes will be delivered to Tehran on 5 July 2018.
These will land at Tehran’s Mehrabad Airport on Sunday morning at 09h00 hours, bringing the total number of ATR planes delivered to Iran to 13. These have all been procured by Iran Air’s fleet.
Following the 2015 JCPOA nuclear deal and the lifting of sanctions, Iran was able to sign three passenger plane agreements with Boeing, Air Bus, and ATR for a total of 200 new planes. The Italian ATR company signed for 20 planes.
Over the past two and a half years, three of these light aircrafts have been delivered to Iran and another five will land here tomorrow.
As of today, Air Bus has also delivered three planes. Hence, the number of post-JCPOA aircraft purchased by Iran’s fleet will reach 16.
The planes being delivered tomorrow are ATR72-600, which joined the world’s air fleet for the first time in 2010. These are equipped with the latest technology and safety systems in the airline industry.
