(Persia Digest) - Shahrud, Bastam, Kharqan World Heritage Conference will be held with the presence of Esin Celebi, the 25th descendant of Mawlana (Rumi), a number of Iranian cultural and artistic personalities and the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO in Tehran on Wednesday and Thursday, 20 and 21 June, at Shahrud University of Technology, and also in Kharqan.

The purpose of this conference is to introduce, identify, and list famous personalities and the cultural, historical and tourism heritage of Iran with several thousand years of civilization.

The main purpose of the conference is to visit historic sites to attract investment and create a tourist line between Shahrud and the cities of Iran and the world.

The main guest of the conference is Ms Esin Celebi, the 25th descendant of Mawlana, who is currently the chair of International Mevlana Foundation. Esin Celebi had long expressed interest to visit Shahrud, which, thankfully, became possible through the World Heritage Conference.

Persia Digest reports that Jalal-e-Din Muhammad Balkhi (Rumi), known as Mawlana, is one of the most famous Persian poets. His most famous poem is Masnavi-ye Manavi [Spiritual Couplets], and his prose works include Fihi Ma Fihi [In It What's in It], Majales-e Sab'a [Seven Sessions] and Makatib [The Letters]. All his works and poems are in Persian.
