Iran-Qatar Joint Economic Committee Meeting
After a 13-year hiatus, the 6th Iran-Qatar Joint Economic Commission will be meeting again on 13 and 14 May 2018 in Doha. A 70-strong delegation of Iranian businessmen and experts from the private and state sectors headed by the Deputy of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade for international affairs, Mohammd-Reza Fayaz, entered the Qatari capital on Sunday morning.
Oman interested in free trade with Iran
Qais Al Yusuf, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has expressed an interest in signing a free trade agreement with the IR of Iran.
Three Iranian banks to open branches in Germany
The Iranian Ambassador in Turkey has announced that the Iranian Middle East, Saman, and Sina banks will be opening branches in Germany to facilitate trade between Iran and its foreign partners, especially Europeans.
Brazil will invest euros 1.2BN in Iran
The Brazilian Ambassador to Tehran announced: “Brazil will invest euros 1.2BN to implement projects in Iran.” At a meeting with members of the Abadan Chamber of Commerce, Rodrigo de Azeredo Santos stated: “We need to establish further bilateral banking and currency ties to promote trade between our two countries.”
Nazak Nikakhtar appointed Assistant Secretary of Commerce
Iranian-American lawyer, Nazak Nikakhtar, has been sworn in as the new Assistant Secretary of Commerce (Industry and Analysis). The Senate confirmed her appointment on 19 March 2018 by voice vote.
Zarif agenda on Pakistan trip
Iran’s top diplomat, Javad Zarif, begins a 3-day official trip to Islamabad today on the invitation of his Pakistani counterpart. Persia Digest reports that a thirty strong economic and commercial delegation accompany the Foreign Minister on this trip. Two business meetings have been planned in Islamabad and Karachi.
Iran-Germany sign technical cooperation agreement
A trilateral cooperation agreement was signed between Iran's Technical and Vocational Training Organization, Iran Chamber of Commerce, and Germany’s Training and Skills Development Foundation for the implementation of the cooperation plan on professional and vocational training.
Iran-Germany Business Opportunity Seminar
An Iran-Germany business opportunity seminar is being organized by the state Ministry of Rhineland-Palatinate for Economic Affairs and the Iran Germany Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The seminar will take place on 28 February at the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce and on 3 March at the Tabriz Chamber of Commerce.
Iran-EU trade grows by 53%
Iran-EU trade saw a rise of 53% in 2017 as compared to a similar period the previous year, to reach € 21 billion. The 2015 Iran nuclear agreement, the JCPOA, was implemented for the second year running in 2017, giving Iran sanctions relief.
China to reopen blocked accounts of Iranians
Iran-China Chamber of Commerce Vice-Chairman has announced China’s decision to reopen the bank accounts of Iranians which had been blocked, and stated: “The Iranian Consulate in Shanghai has also made an official announcement in this respect.”
Euros 2.3 billion exports from Germany to Iran
Director of the joint Iran-Germany chamber of commerce has announced that Iran’s economy is the most versatile industrial economy in the region, and added: “In the nine months from January to October 2017, Germany has exported euros 2.3 billion worth of goods to Iran and imported USD 328MM from Iran.
1st Smart City Expo in Tehran
The first Smart City Expo will take place in Tehran with the participation of large domestic companies and a number of foreign companies.
Domestic and foreign products and solutions for smart cities will be showcased from 13-16 February 2018 at the “Shahr-e Aftab” exhibition center.
