(Persia Digest) – The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament has announced that the Supreme Leader has issued orders to reform the structure of the country within four months, saying: “Internal consensus and unity are one of the important requirements of domestic politics to this end. Under the circumstances, fomenting political controversies is not in the best interest of the country.”
Ali Larijani stated that strengthening defenses is on the agenda and the armed forces are being equipped to provide security and safety for the people next year. He added: “Iran's security and defense capabilities are enough to confront America's adventurism.”
Persia Digest (PD) reports that the 6-month sanction wavers for some buyers of Iranian oil will expire in April and will not be renewed according to American officials; because this country intends to cut Iran’s oil exports to zero. In exchange, Iranian authorities have said the US will never be able to reach its goal.
Following his unilateral withdrawal from the JCPOA in May 2018, Trump reinstated all Iran sanctions on the country again in two stages and increased pressures on Iran. The international community, including Europe, China, and Russia have opposed the action.
Update: The Islamic Consultative Assembly's Cultural and Public Relations Director has said: “The decree of the Supreme Leader of Iran, announced yesterday by the Speaker of Parliament, was related to "Structural reforms in the country's budgeting system," and the headline "Structural reforms in the country" mistakenly reported by the media is not correct.
