(Persia Digest) – For the first time in the history of Iranian chess, and a round still remaining before the end of the tournament, Parham Maghsoudlou has become the World Junior Chess Champion.
The tenth and game before last of the World Junior Chess Championship tournament took place in Turkey on Friday, where Parham Maghsoudlou won Russian Maksim Vavulin to take the title for Iran for the first time.
Maghsoudlou, who ranks at the top of Iran’s chess rating system, is ahead of everyone with 9.5 points out of ten and designate champion.

He would hae taken the title even if he had tied his game yesterday.
Many known faces of the chess world, including the first women’s chess Grandmaster Susan Polgar, have expressed admiration for Maghsoudlou’s tactics in the tournament.
