(Persia Digest) – The Iranian Foreign Minister has tweeted about the contradictions of Trump’s policies on Iran.

Addressing the US President, Iran’s top diplomat tweeted: “When @realDonaldTrump's own intelligence agencies contradict what he, the warmongers in his admin, and the Israelis say about Iran. He should have listened to the EU, the UN, and former US officials all along.”

Persia Digest (PD) reports that CIA Chief, Gina Haspel, and National Intelligence Director, Dan Coats, recently reported to Congress senators that Iran was in compliance with the 2015 JCPOA nuclear deal.

The report entailed Trump’s verbal attacks on the US intelligence community. The US President tweeted that the community in Washington ignored the dangers of Iran, saying: “The Intelligence people seem to be extremely passive and naive when it comes to the dangers of Iran. They are wrong!”

Both Democrat and Republican senators, and former intelligence officials, were largely critical of the tweet. Former deputy director of the CIA, Michael Morell, tweeted: “The “intelligence people” are trained professionals who serve our nation with honor and dignity every day. They don’t play politics with national security — ever. They deserve a president’s respect, not his/her public rebuke, which only serves to help our adversaries.”
