(Persia Digest) - The first art festival for Persian speakers living in Europe to take place in Paris in January 2018 has selected its jury for the visual arts section.
The longstanding Iranian caricaturist, animator, and sculptor, Pantea Va’eznia is acting as Secretary for the festival. Kiarang ‘Alaei, Amir Abedi, and Maryam Mohammadi are on the panel of judges for the Paris photography section.
Speaking about the photography section, Va’eznia said the participants will be submitting their works in the free and thematic section of urban landscape photography, culture of citizenship, and immigration. The artists taking part in the thematic section will be in Paris photographing the city.
The works will be showcased in an exhibition and published in a book entitled ‘Paris 2018’.
Va’eznia also pointed out to the selection of the panel of judges for the caricature section and said she will be judging the works together with Bozorgmehr Hosseinpur and Ahmad Arabani. The participants will be submitting their works in the two free and thematic section on Persian language and literature.
She added that judgment will be based on the aesthetic and technical specifications of the works and submission rules.
Registration has been open since 6 October to Persian speakers interested in taking part in the art festival of Persian speakers living in Europe from Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan.
This is the first festival of its kind organized in association with the Persiana Cultural Association, formed by Persian, Tajik, and Afghan speakers active in the arts and culture of the Persian speaking world.
