Iran response to anti-Iranian statement by French ministers

(Persia Digest) – In a statement, Iran’s Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has responded to wild accusations made by three French ministers at an Iranian diplomat arrested and charged with being involved in a terrorist operation aimed at an exiled Iranian terrorist group in Paris, saying: “Once again, we reject the allegations made against the Islamic Republic of Iran and the arrest of an Iranian diplomat and call for his immediate release.”

Bahram Ghasemi described the whole situation as a scenario and conspiracy to destroy the good relations between Iran and Europe in favor of plans made by the US and the Zionist regime, with the mise en scène of a terrorist group resident in France.

Persia Digest (PD) reports that the French ministers of the Interior, Foreign Office, and Economy issued a joint statement against Iran, declaring that the foiled attempt claimed to have taken place in the Villepinte area of Paris was very serious and had to be dealt with.

They were referring to a 30th June gathering by the MEK group in Paris where it is claimed that an Iranian group planned to bomb the gathering. Iran rejected the claim and called it a show by MEK members.

In the new statement, Bahram Ghasemi once again emphasized the policies of Iran in condemning any terrorist act, adding: “According to available documents, the role of malicious, destructive elements in the design of this ridiculous show is clear.”
