(Persia Digest) – The Norwegian ambassador to Tehran announced that his country has signed a 2.5BN euro contract to build a solar power plant in Iran.
Lars Nordrum said that his country will be building the power plant and making it operational over a period of five years.
The Norwegian Ambassador stated that the contract has been signed between Norway’s Saga Energy and Amin Energy Developers.
The plant's capacity is announced at 2 gigawatts and its solar equipment will be installed in various desert areas of central Iran.
Following the unanimous support of European countries for the 2015 Iran nuclear deal (JCPOA) against Donald Trump’s decertification of Iran’s commitment to the deal despite eight IAEA approvals of its compliance, the Norwegian Ambassador to Tehran, Lars Nordrum also supported the deal with Iran and announced his country’s intentions to expand economic ties with Iran.
Nordrum said: “Norway is totally committed to the JCPOA and this is a sign that we take the new age in relations between Iran and the west very seriously. We will soon witness Norwegian investments in Iran.”
