(Persia Digest) – Sara Bahrami has won the Best Actress Award at the Malaysia Internaional Film Festival (MIFFest) for her part in “Axing”.

“Axing” directed by Behrouz Shoeibi was nominated in six categories of Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Supporting Actor at the 3rd MIFFest. Sara Bahrami won the Best Actress Award at the closing ceremony. She also won the same award at the 36th Fajr International Film Festival for the same film.

“Axing” also took the Best Picture Award at the Golden Apricot International Film Festival in Armenia.

The synopsis of “Axing” is about a drug addict whose husband has left her and remarried. The addicted woman finds out that she was lied to about the death of her child who is still alive. She begins a series of measures to find her child and creates difficulties for her ex and his new wife.
