(Persia Digest) – The grape harvest in Quar, Fars Province, has been accomplished ceremoniously as in previous years.
Grapes are cultivated in over 65 thousand hectares of land in Fars Province with a harvest of over 600 thousand tons. Fars ranks first in Iran in grape production and the town of Quar is first in the province with six thousand hectares of grape orchards and 140 tons of production annually.
The grape harvest began on 17 September. This is imported to the Persian Gulf states and European countries. The rest is sent to Tehran, Yazd, Kerman, and Alborz provinces.
