Netanyahu ignores scientific advances by Iran

Addressing the opening of the Knesset winter session Oct. 15, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu boasted of the “fantastic decade” Israel had experienced under his stewardship. He spoke of a decade of progress and economic growth, of stability and security, of building and prosperity. “Each and every developed state would have been blessed by what we have done,” he told the lawmakers. And then, of course, there was the inevitable mention of Iran — “We will keep pushing it back with all our might.”

Mohammad Javad Dehghani who is the Head of the Islamic World Science Citation Database (ISC) has said: “A comprehensive and analytical overview of the Persian language from 1997 to the end of 2017 in Scopus shows that the publication of scientific documents in Persian over the past two decades has grown more than fortyfold  and the global ranking of the Persian language has moved up from the thirtieth to the fifteenth rank with 15 upgrades.

The Iranian House of Music Secretary has announced that Iran’s file for the registration of the lute as an intangible world heritage in 2019 has been forwarded to the Iran Cultural Heritage Organization. The registration file for the santur [dulcimer] will also be compiled next.

The longest lunar eclipse of the 21st century occurred on Friday evening and was seen in large parts of Iran, Australia, Asia, Africa, Europe and South America. In Iran, this lunar eclipse began at 21:44:47, as the most important astronomical event of the century, and it took 103 minutes for the moon to become fully eclipsed.
