(Persia Digest) – Iran’s Head of Tourism Organization has announced that Iran and Oman will be cooperating to develop their coastal and maritime tourism, nature tourism, and medical tourism sectors.

Following a meeting with Oman’s Minister of Tourism, Ahmed bin Nasser Al Mahrizi and the visiting delegation, Ali-Asghar Munesan added: “At the meeting, it was decided to focus on increasing the number of visitors between the two countries.”

Munesan emphasized: “Oman has begun promoting its handicrafts industry and we will be placing our experiences at their disposal to help their efforts.”

He reiterated: “We are also ready to help Oman in their archaeological excavations by sending our national heritage experts over there.”

Munesan also reminded: “Our counterparts in Oman have welcomed our experiences in converting historic buildings into hotels. Minister Al Mahrizi will be visiting a number of our historic hotels on his trip to Iran and we will be placing our knowledge in this area at his disposal.”

He added: “Both our countries will be making their utmost efforts to promote the level of cooperation in our tourism sectors.”

Munesan continued by saying: “A small effort was made years ago in our mutual coastal and maritime tourism when we asked our Omani counterparts to exercise patience in promoting this sector between the two countries. Additionally, we proposed the use of a combined transport system (sea & air) for certain journeys taken by tourists.”

Oman’s Minister of Tourism also pointed out to the promotion of various tourisms between the two countries, and stated: “Inshallah, we will take positive steps for sustained cooperation in the future.”

He stressed: “We are hoping to provide facilities for tourism to flourish between Oman and Iran.”
