(Persis Digest) – A group of Iranian artists and actors gathered together with the Kermanshah earthquake victims at the 12th Holy Defense Film Festival for students held here.

The Festival was held in two matinee and afternoon sessions for a fortnight in all the earthquake stricken villages of Sarpol-e Zahab (3days), Ghasr-e Shirin (2 days), Guilan-Gharb (2 days), Dalahu (1 day), and Salas Babajani (2 days).

Participating actors and artists were Fatemeh Motamed-Aria, Malek Saraj, Kurosh Soleimani, Seyed Ali Salehi, Mohammad-Reza Hedayati, Saeid Dakh, Alireza Masoudi, Behzad Karimi, Hossein Dehbashi, and Salar Abdo (Professor at NY University).

Books authored by the heroes of the Holy Defense were introduced to the children. These can be named as Molla Saleh Ghari (famous character of a book by the same name), Seyedeh Zahra Hosseini, (Narrator and protagonist of ‘Da’”, Nour-e-Din ‘Afi (Narrator and protagonist of “Nour-e-Din: The son of Iran”), and Faranguis Heidarpur (Narrator and protagonist of “Faranguis”). The artists endeavored to inspire the young people and encourage them to be resilient and patient when faced with hardships by reminding them that this too shall pass. They spent their time having fun and being entertained.

In addition to providing the students with all the essential stationery and supplies, more than two thousand girls of Sarpol-e Zahab were also given dolls.
