Zarif agenda on Pakistan trip
Iran’s top diplomat, Javad Zarif, begins a 3-day official trip to Islamabad today on the invitation of his Pakistani counterpart. Persia Digest reports that a thirty strong economic and commercial delegation accompany the Foreign Minister on this trip. Two business meetings have been planned in Islamabad and Karachi.
Shanghai welcomes joint investment with Iran
President of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade said: “Shanghai is ready to welcome Iranian investors, as well as work on joint ventures with Iran.” Talking on the sidelines of the opening of the Iranian pavilion in Shanghai on Wednesday 28 February and the economic conference between Iran and China, he added: “In the past, the Silk Road strengthened ties between our two countries. This continues today at an even deeper level.”
Ten Iranian economic giants introduced
The list of top 500 commercial and industrial enterprises in Iran has been announced. The sales figures for the first top 100 in 2017, based on last year's financial data, was tomans 549BN, showing a growth of 17.7% as compared to a similar period last year for the same companies.
China to reopen blocked accounts of Iranians
Iran-China Chamber of Commerce Vice-Chairman has announced China’s decision to reopen the bank accounts of Iranians which had been blocked, and stated: “The Iranian Consulate in Shanghai has also made an official announcement in this respect.”
Third Chinese commercial train rolls into Iran
China’s third commercial train has pulled into the Incheh Borun border town of Golestan Province on the Iran-Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan railway line. As reported by Persia Digest, the train was carrying 41 containers. After completing the customs paper works, it left for Tehran on the Gorgan-Tehran line for the customs office in Shahriar, Tehran Province.
Iran-Oman visa free travel soon + News refuted
the Omani Ambassador to Tehran announced: “Visa requirements between the two countries of Oman and Iran will be abolished soon.”
Saud bin Ahmed al-Barwani added: “During my travels to different provinces in Iran, the most frequently asked question by businessmen was about visas. Thus, the decision was made to abolish visa requirements between the two countries. The details are presently being taken care of.”
