(Persia Digest) – The week ending 23rd February in Tehran saw the opening of new exhibitions and the continuation of the old. The world of photography saw the opening of its important annual event, “Picture of the Year 2018” yesterday by exhibiting the crème de la crème of photography at the Artists Forum in the capital.
The Museum of Contemporary Art in the capital is also host to 200 works by painter, illustrator, sculptor, and animator, Ali-Akbar Sadeghi. This is an exhibition of the artist’s lifetime achievements.
“Death flower” at the Etemad Gallery
The third solo exhibition of photos by Niki Karimi is on at the Etemad Gallery in the Negarestan Gardens.
Niki Karimi says she began work on her collection in 2015 and went through many peaks and troughs before reaching the final stage. The exhibition will run until 6 March.
“Crisis” at the Sareban Gallery
This is an exhibition of works by ten artists, namely Amin Bagheri, Alireza, Jeddi, Omid Hallaj, Saeid Rafi’ei-Monfared, Amir-Hossein Zanjani, Amir Soghrati, Kiumars Kiasat, Ahmad Morshedlu, Masumeh Mozafari, and Nezar Mousavinia. It is on for 10 ten days in Tehran, wrapping up on 26 February.
“Freer than the wind in the ocean sky” is the name of a painting exhibition by Sepideh Yari at the Farda Gallery.
Her solo exhibition will display over twenty of her works, which are a combination of boats, trees, fishes, and urban landscapes. It will run from 23 February till 1 March.
