(Persia Digest) – Iranian MPs have cast 229 votes in favor of Saeid Namaki to be appointed as the Minister of Health and Medical Education.
The first agenda of the Iranian parliament today was to examine the eligibility of President Rouhani's proposal for the Minister of Health.
Following the resignation of Dr Ghazizadeh-Hashemi from his post, Rouhani proposed Saeid Namaki to Parliament and defended his proposal at the qualification hearing today.
Those for and against the proposal reviewed it and Namaki also defended himself. Voting took place with 229 for, 25 against, and 4 abstentions out of a total of 259 votes, appointing Saeid Namaki as Iran’s new Minister of Health and Medical Education.
