(Persia Digest) – In answer to the question of what the IR of Iran is planning after US oil exemptions for eight countries expire on 28 April, the Iranian Foreign Minister stated: “We have followed up on all our options to pursue trade in the past few months and will continue to do so in the coming months; currently, our exports still exceed US exemptions for sanctions.”

Javad Zarif continued: “The Americans now know that they cannot pursue the Iran sanctions. They have accepted that they cannot bring Iran’s oil exports to zero; they have even accepted that they cannot uphold their sanctions to the level of exemptions they have issued.”

FM Zarif stressed: “The US is slowly reaching the conclusion that the world is much bigger than the US.”

Speaking about the FATF, CFT, and Palermo Convention, Zarif said: “The Foreign Ministry and the cabinet believe that these two conventions are in favour of our national interests; joining the CFT and Palermo conventions and abiding by the FATF has more benefits that not joining them.”
