(Persia Digest) - Behnam Safavi, Iranian pop star, has died aged 36.
Safavi who was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2014 underwent a sophisticated surgical operation on 20 July 2016 due to his worsening situation.
His general condition improved after the operation, so much so that he released his new album titled 'Miracle' and participated in many concerts. Safavi also released several singles.
His illness recurred in 2017 and forced him to travel to Germany for further treatment. He underwent a surgical operation by the prominent Iranian surgeon, Professor Samiei, at a hospital in Hanover.
Upon his return to Tehran from Germany, Safavi was undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy. He passed away early this morning at the age of 36 in the city of Isfahan.
The pop singer had many fans who gave him several nicknames including 'The Polite Son of Iranian Music', “King of Calmness', etc.
