(Persia Digest) – The third edition of the European film week will be held in eight Iranian cities with the participation of 20 European countries. It’s the most important European cultural event to be held in Iran in recent years.
The major cultural event, a joint work of Iran’s Honar Va Tajrobeh (Art and Experience) Group and the European Union National Institutes for Culture: EUNIC, will officially begin on 8 June 2019 at the Iranian Artists Forum.
Iranian and EUNIC officials as well as European ambassadors in Tehran, and Iranian and European film-makers and directors will participate at the opening ceremony of the European Film Week 2019 in Tehran.
Two European films, the Dark Valley from Austria and Silent Army from the Netherlands, will also be screened at the opening ceremony.
The third edition of the European Film Week in Iran will be held from June 8-17 by screening 20 major films in the eight Iranian cities of Babol, Isfahan, Kerman, Mashhad, Tabriz, Tehran, Shiraz and Kish Island.
The films are from Austria, Bulgaria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Norway, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland and Britain.
Moreover, five workshops are to be held on the fringe of the film week by film producers and directors from Cyprus, the Netherlands and Switzerland. The workshops will focus on artistic movies and joint products and will be held in Tehran, Shiraz, Isfahan and Mashhad.
