(Persia Digest) - The UAE has refused to issue permits for certain Iranian goods to leave its ports for Iranian ports, including Qeshm.
The CEO of Qeshm Free Zone Organization’s customs in Iran has said: “Iranian officials are now seeking to find ways for the unilateral sanctions imposed by the UAE on Iran.”
Persia Digest (PD) reports that the Director General of Port Affairs at the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization had earlier refuted claims that certain items had been confiscated in the UAE destined for Iran following the illegal US sanctions and had said that imports-exports were taking place as before.
Currently, the Qeshm Free Zone customs CEO has told Fars news agency that the UAE is refusing to issue permits for Iranian goods destined for Iranian ports.

He stated that the UAE is abiding by illegal, unilateral US sanctions, adding: “This behavior by the UAE is totally unprofessional and contrary to trade agreements. Iranian authorities will act accordingly.”
Persia Digest (PD) reports that following the US unilateral withdrawal from the 2015 JCPOA deal and reinstatement of sanctions against Iran, a handful of countries such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Israel have supported the US move. The UAE was one of Iran’s main trading partners.
