(Persia Digest) – The portal for digitalized Persian manuscripts has been unveiled in Iran by the first Vice President, Eshaq Jahanguiri, Gloria Pérez-Salmerón, President of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), and Ashraf Borujerdi, President of the National Library and Archives Organization of Iran (NLAI).
The portal was unveiled today, Monday 26 February 2018, on the sidelines of the National Library’s 80th anniversary. It is in the net domain.
The portal was designed in three stages. The first stage included the collection of all Persian books inside Iran; the second stage involved all books in the Persian language worldwide; and the third stage was about teaching Persian as a foreign language.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by distinguished guests and former heads of the National Library, ambassadors, and authors and scholars, at the International Conference Center of the National Library and Archives.
