(Persia Digest) – Yazd is the first adobe city in the world and an ancient city of Iran in Yazd Province. It has been registered as a Unesco World Heritage and is one of Iran’s famous tourist attractions.
Many recreational programs have been planned for the coming Iranian New Year, Nowruz, in the provincial city of Yazd in March, including desert trekking, handicrafts and souvenir fairs, the Yazdi Nowruz spread, kite festival, and mobile music festivals.
One of Iran’s largest Nowruz spreads is also planned for the “Amir Chakhmagh” Square in Yazd.
The city’s architectural masterpieces include the Yazd Grand Mosque, Amir Chakhmagh Complex, aqueducts, mills, historical houses and roundabouts, and religious venues, forming a collection well worth visiting together with the old city fabric. Once in Yazd, make sure to visit one of Iran’s largest ghanat aqueducts, its tallest tree, and the oldest wooden “Nakhle” which is a vessel with a wooden structure covered with fabrics, pieces of mirror, lights, colored glass, wood, metals, and the like, used in religious ceremonies.
If you plan to travel to travel this coming Nowruz, pay a visit to Yazd and enjoy its recreational programs starting on 19 March 2018.
