(Persia Digest) – Iranian MPs have agreed to upgrade the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization into a ministry.
In today’s plenary session, the setup of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts was ratified with 159 yeas, 22 nays, and 8 abstentions out of a total of 214 votes.
Persia Digest (PD) reports that Iran is one of the most prominent countries in the world in terms of cultural heritage, biogeography, cultural diversity, civilization and 7000 years of history.
With the reinstatement of US oil sanctions against this country, Iran intends to use its tourism potential to the fullest to generate a foreign currency income. The Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization has been working under the supervision of the President’s office and its head is selected by the President.
