(Persia Digest) – The President of the Iranian Football Federation has been voted as AFC vice president.
Mahdi Taj who was a candidate for the AFC position received a majority vote by the members.
The incumbent was Ali Kafashian, former President of the Iranian Football Federation.
AFC President Sheikh Salman was also reinstated in his position at the AFC Asian Football Confederation meeting held in Malaysia.
At the meeting FIFA President, Gianni Infantino, announced that 90 percent of FIFA member federations had agreed to hold the 2022 AFC Cup in Qatar with 48 participating teams.
