(Persia Digest) – The German Ambassador to Iran has said that trade between Tehran and Berlin will grow by 20% annually following the Iran nuclear agreement - the JCPOA.
In an interview with IRNA official News Agency, Michael Klor-Berchtold continued: “The JCPOA is a key achievement in the architecture of global nonproliferation and is of particular importance to the security of the region.”
He went on to say: “We must now make every effort to convince the US Congress of the benefits of the nuclear deal. Of course, in diplomacy, we have to talk to everyone and listen to everyone. We all hope that we can work together to find solutions and speak with all those involved on issues of concern to all of us.”
The German Ambassador to Tehran reiterated: “Germany and the EU expect the US not to act unilaterally, but to keep in mind the outcome of its decisions on the rest of the world.”
Michael Klor-Berchtold spoke about the effects of the JCPOA on relations between Iran and the EU, and in particular Germany: “Following the JCPOA agreement, political, economic, and cultural relations between Iran and Europe, and in particular with Germany, have grown considerably. The volume of foreign trade between our two countries will be an estimated USD 3BN this year.”
He continued: “Also, from the date of the nuclear agreement, the annual growth rate of trade between Germany and Iran has been over 20%. This is very good news and we will continue to pursue the development of economic relations.
