(Persia Digest) – Mobrakeh is a town in southwestern Isfahan Province. The Head of its National Heritage Department has announced the discovery of a number of painted pottery jugs in the southern Garkan district of the nearby Farkhr-Abad village.
Valiollah Rahbari said: “Studies show that these date back to three thousand years ago, to the first millennium BCE.”
He added: “This discovery is very important, because Farkhr-Abad village is located on the Zayandeh Rud River bank and these relics are testament to the lives and civilization of people living here at that time.”
He went on to add: “The archaeological finds in Ghal’eh Bozi and Shahr Dizicheh pertain to the same civilization and show that people have resided here since the Middle Paleolithic times (over 42 thousand years ago), making it one of the first Neanderthal settlements on the central plateau of Iran.
