(Persia Digest) - Hormozgan Province in southern Iran has varied and colorful dishes due to its special climatic conditions and regional characteristics.

Mouflek is one of the local dishes of Hormozgan Province, which has many fans in Bandar Abbas and Qeshm. The dish is made from wheat or oats and boneless fish. This dish can be found in most restaurants in Bandar Abbas.

Ingredients for 3:

1 ½ Cups wheat or rolled oats

Boneless fish

2 Onions

Turmeric and salt to taste

2 tbsp Coriander seeds

Roast the wheat or rolled oats in a pot until brown. Then, soak the wheat in the water like rice.

Boil the fish with salt and turmeric.

Caramelize the chopped onions and then add the turmeric.

Separate the skin and bones of the fish that you have already boiled and fry it with onions. Add the water used to boil the fish to the mix of fish and fried onions. Bring to the boil and add the soaked wheat and wait until the water is completely vaporized and the dish is steam cooked.

While it is steaming, you can add some coriander seeds on top of the wheat. Enjoy your meal!
