(Persia Digest) - Deputy Governor of Khuzestan Province has said: “Tourist visas will be issued on arrival in the southern city of Ahvaz for 180 countries; this can be extended for up to three years.”
At the opening ceremony of the first direct Khorramshahr-Oman shipping line, Seyed Ali Bahraini-Moghaddam said: “Issuing 90-day tourist visas in Ahvaz Airport on arrival has begun in the Arvand Free Zone. These can be changed to business visas and if agreements are concluded through Arvand Free Zone, they can be renewed for up to three years.”
He named the inauguration of the shipping line a non-oil infrastructure for exports to the Persian Gulf states, and added: “Adjoining cities to Khuzestan Province, namely Ilam, Hamedan, and Lorestan, will carry out their exports to the Persian Gulf states via this shipping line from Khorramshahr at lower costs Deputy Governor of Khuzestan due to their proximity.”
Initially, the shipping line will run once every fortnight to Oman. Once business has picked up, the trips will take place on a weekly basis according to Bahraini Moghaddam.
