(Persia Digest) – Iranian author, Amir-Hassan Cheheltan, has met and talked with German President, Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
The meeting took place on Wednesday 6 March 2019 during the course of ceremonies titled “Meeting in Bellevue” at the German presidential palace.
Cheheltan posted on his Facebook page: “I was contacted by the Head of the cultural section of the German government a few months ago who invited me on behalf of the President to a cup of coffee with him on my next trip to Germany. Today, this meeting took place. This was the first official visit of my career, and perhaps the last. Let truth be told, official visits make me uneasy; although, he was very casual. Steinmeier is different, friendly, and an avid novel reader.”
